With the college wrestling season here, we'll head to Laramie
and talk with Wyoming head wrestling coach Mark Branch. As a
competitor at Oklahoma State, Branch has the unique distinction of
winning the NCAA Division I title as a freshman and coming into the
tournament with a losing record.
Branch talks about the legacy his family had in Stillwater, what
role basketball had in that legacy, what it was like wrestling for
John Smith early in his coaching career and some of the things that
went along with his 1-2-2-1 placements at the NCAA
Championships.
We'll also dive into what make Wyoming the right choice for Branch
11 years ago when he applied for the head coaching job of
wrestling's other Division I Cowboys.
