Steve Fraser is ready for a celebratory weekend in Las Vegas as the 2007 Greco-Roman World Championship team is set to be honored at the U.S. Open and Greco-Roman & Women's Freestyle World Team Trials this coming weekend. On Episode 327 of the Short Time Wrestling Podcast, Fraser talks about his time coaching before moving into fundraising and the dynamics of that team.

Coach Fraser also talks about his time wrestling at the University of Michigan, competing and winning gold at the 1984 Olympic Games in Greco-Roman along with teammate Jeff Blatnick and how a career working for Domino's Pizza brought Fraser back to wrestling.

There's also an update for listeners who use Soundcloud, a thank you to the folks who gave me some love during the Hall of Fame Virginia Chapter induction ceremony this past weekend in Virginia -- and I rant on Boise State some -- they are ignoring all of my media requests.

Inspired by true events can sometimes be the international sign for eye roll when it comes to movies. This isn't the case with Ali Afshar and his upcoming film American Wrestler: The Wizard.

An immigrant who fled Iran as a child, Afshar worked with Warner Brothers to create a movie that centered around his struggles as an Iranian during the 1980s, at the height of the Iran-U.S. international hostage crisis.

What was the outlet that led him to acceptance and through his own personal struggles? Wrestling. Afshar, who has an accomplished career in motorsports, has also been in a number of filmes and television series. American Wrestler will debut via FathomEvents on May 3 and then have a full digital release two weeks later.

Find out more about the movie and how to watch at AmericanWrestlerMovie.com.

In 1994, Josh Feldman became the second All-American in school history at Virginia Tech after he finished seventh at heavyweight. A short stint in college coaching and a conversation with some friends led to him enlisting in the United States Navy.

Feldman got back into wrestling after being stationed in Southeastern Virginia at the numerous bases in the area. Coaching at Great Bridge and Grassfield High Schools in Chesapeake, Feldman got deployed and his high school coaching career seemingly came to an end.

After putting in 20 years in the Navy as a pilot, Feldman has settled in Central Pennsylvania, taking a new challenge that involves coaching again, but this time with the new Beat The Streets program in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.

In an area known for wrestling, Lancaster City has been struggling with participation and reach. This is where Feldman's task comes in. It's a diverse area with various socio-economic backgrounds that make this a challenge. What does Feldman look forward to? What does he think about his alma mater becoming a national power?

When Nathan Kraisser transferred from North Carolina to Campbell University, it turned a few heads. On Episode 323 of the Short Time Wrestling Podcast, Kraisser, the first wrestling All-American in school history, talks about his reasons for following Cary Kolat to Campbell, the pressure on him to live up to the expectation that he would be the first All-American at the school and how his performance will impact the program moving forward.

Kraisser also explains how difficult the weight cut was this year to 125 and having to go through a few tough opponents who had beaten him earlier in the season in order to earn an eighth-place finish at the 2017 NCAA Division I Championships in St. Louis.

Jake Residori wants you to know he wasn't overlooked, rather he chose SIU Edwardsville on his own accord. On Episode 322 of the Short Time Wrestling Podcast, we'll talk with the Shorewood, Illinois, native about his All-American finish at the 2017 NCAA Division I Championships.

SIU Edwardsville moved to Division I in 2007, but its wrestling team wouldn't be postseason eligible until 2013. Residori became the school's first Division I All-American since Tim Wright finished third in 1987 as a Division II qualifier to the tournament. Residori has the unique distinction in becoming the first wrestling All-American since the school has been a full member of Division I.

Residori will explain the recruiting process under former coach David Ray, the transition to coach Jeremy Spates, the dynamic of assistant coaches Eric Grajales and Rossi Bruno and how exactly he set up the move of his life to earn All-American honors.
