With four months to go until a new school year starts, Little Rock head coach Neil Erisman will return to the Short Time Wrestling Podcast. Episode 510 talks with Erisman about the construction of the Hatcher Wrestling Facility as well as the recent news the Trojans wrestling program will be wrestling in the Pac-12 Conference this upcoming season.

Coach Erisman also talks about the process of hiring an assistant coach, which will be coming shortly, as well as the difficulties of building a schedule in year one and who they'll be wrestling for the first home dual in school history on November 22.

We also talk about the development of the Little Rock podcast, Rocked Up, and how it chronicles the

Behind every good man is usually a good woman. In the case of Northern Iowa head coach Doug Schwab, the saying is an understatement. On Episode 509 of the Short Time Wrestling Podcast, we'll meet Allyson Schwab, wife of the Panther head coach and mother to four children.

We'll go into how Allyson and Doug first met, their travels around the globe, the trials and tribulations of being an athlete's wife, then a coach's wife and all the things that go into managing the chaos of life.

There's a lot to dive into here and there's plenty about the twins, the basement battles and Doug's affinity for Mountain Dew.

The NAIA has grown considerably over the past decade. The college wrestling opportunities in Kansas have also grown during that span. This is why the announcement that came from Kansas Wesleyan University on May 14 was a stunner to many - the school was dropping wrestling after only four seasons.

On Episode 508 of the Short Time Wrestling Podcast, KWU head coach Jason Schweer, who'd been on the job less than one year, explains some of what the issues were, why the team struggled with numbers and how the school struggled with stability with three coaches in the first four years of the squad.

What's next for Schweer? Is there any chance to bring back a program that was dropped as a result of a school-wide budget issue? Was the staff given what it needed to be able to recruit and compete?

Wrestling official Laura Conway sits down with fellow officials Zach Errett and Casey Goessl during the U.S. Open in Las Vegas to discuss a couple of variables within wrestling officiating and how they're called.

Among the topics discussed include what negative wrestling is in Greco-Roman, the challenge procedure and how out of bounds gets called at various points during a match.

This show is a pilot show to gauge the interest on whether fans would be interested in more information and podcast content from an official perspective. Got feedback? Hit up Laura Conway at conway.usaw@gmail.com and to me at jason@bryantwrestling.com.

When Andy Cook talks about his wrestling career, he doesn't hide the fact he didn't do the right things in college. After washing out his collegiate career and spending time away from the sport, Cook found his way back, eventually starting a club in the Pacific Northwest. A few years later, he was the head women's coach at Grays Harbor College in Aberdeen, Washington and on tours with Team USA. Now Cook finds himself in the lead women's coaching position with the Indian National Team.

How does a club coach in Washington end up being the leader of a foreign national team? Find out more as I caught up with Andy at the 2019 Asian Wrestling Championships in Xi'an, China on Episode 506 of the Short Time Wrestling Podcast.
