The American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) sent a letter to the National Collegiate Wrestling Association (NCWA) alleging discrimination. While the NCWA had 10 days to legally respond to the allegations, the ACLU went on a media assault, pushing out video content and share campaigns aimed at pushing the agenda to the masses.

There's one (or more than one) problem, the NCWA is the only organization that offers college teams, albeit mostly student-run clubs, to compete in both men's and women's divisions. That isn't good enough for one Michigan native, so the ACLU pounced, labeling itself a champion for women's wrestling.

On Episode 361, three women's wrestlers come to the table to talk about the problems with the ACLU narrative, explaining the depth of the current women's wrestling opportunities around the country and what is being done by all factions of wrestling to support the growth of women's teams -- all things the ACLU left out of its marketing push.

Joining the show is Short Time regular and King University assistant coach Julia Salata, former Oklahoma City wrestler Shelby Morrison and former U.S. women's national team member and Menlo College alum Katherine Shai (formerly Fulp-Allen).

The discussion explains the structure of how girls can wrestle in college -- with schools that actually have college wrestling teams. For first-time listeners looking for facts and scenarios ignored by the ACLU media push, you've come to the right place. Want to hear what the lion's share of how women's wrestlers feel about this? Your ears await.

This is the fourth straight year the Short Time Wrestling Podcast has previewed the tournament and while Sara was either out preparing or watching Big Brother or Survivor (only kidding), David stepped up on a late night to share this year's story. What's new? What are the stats? Find out more.

Episode 359 of the Short Time Wrestling Podcast talks with the new head wrestling coach at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, Frank Beasley.

An Illinois native, Beasley started his college wrestling career in junior college before heading to Bloomsburg. After an injury-shortened career at the Division I level, Beasley's coaching prowess started to develop and after a stint at his alma mater and Buffalo, he connected with then-Binghamton head coach Pat Popolizio.

At Binghamton and then NC State, where Beasley followed Popolizio, he blossomed as a coach and recruiter. We'll talk with Beasley about the travels, choosing a junior college first, being completely transparent with his significant other and of course, his life in Raleigh prior to moving to Northern Virginia.

Episode 358 of the Short Time Wrestling Podcast centers in on the NAIA and University of Providence head wrestling coach Caleb Schaeffer. While there has been a lot of talk recently about the Blue Ribbon Task Force and its impact on Division I wrestling, Schaeffer and the rest of the NAIA have some qualification news to discuss.

A graduate of Montana State-Northern where he was an NAIA national champion and four-time All-American, Schaeffer's been with the school formerly known as the University of Great Falls since the program's inception. A jovial, comical but serious guy at the same time, Schaeffer and his NAIA comrades provide some of the most entertaining events in all of wrestling.

How will the NAIA now qualify? Where's the next wave of expansion coming? What story can he tell us about Emmett Willson and a porcupine? All that as well as a food-service rant at the end of the show, coming up now on Short Time.
