Wrestling fans who follow the world of mixed martial arts should
know the name Charlie Brenneman. Known as "The Spaniard," Brenneman
had a number of fights in the Ultimate Fighting Championships and
has also held titles in various regional promotions.
On Episode 221 of the Short Time Wrestling Podcast, Brenneman will
talk about his new book, Driven: My
Unlikely Journey from Classroom to Cage and break down the
reasons behind he got into fighting and the reasons why he felt his
story was compelling enough to write a book about it.
Brenneman just missed All-American honors his senior year at Lock
Haven and went into teaching Spanish in his hometown. Then the
first crack at television came with the reality competition series
called Pros vs. Joes.
Brenneman will break down the experience and explain why that
kickstarted his push into MMA. It's a fun conversation with The
Spaniard.
