Kevin Black was a four-time high school state wrestling champion
at River Falls High School in Wisconsin. His college career at
Wisconsin saw him compete at the NCAA Division I Championships
three times, including a fourth-place finish at 133 pounds in 2002.
Now the head coach at his alma mater of River Falls, Black has
launched a unique initiative aimed at developing women's wrestling
at the age-group levels.
On Episode 364 of the Short Time Wrestling Podcast, Black explains
his plan and how River Falls High School will
facilitate the educational goals for a new group of women's
wrestlers.
Black also shares his opinions on the developmental gap between the
U.S. and other countries and why he believes women's-only wrestling
opportunities will further help grow the number of women's
wrestlers in Wisconsin and the U.S.
